Zhenjiang Launches Special Rectification Campaign for Hazardous Chemical Transportation, Strictly Cracking Down on All Types of Illegal Transport Practices, Including Flammable Liquids

On March 9, the Zhenjiang Municipal Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Detachment for Transportation, in collaboration with the Traffic Management Detachment of the Zhenjiang Public Security Bureau, conducted a concentrated enforcement campaign targeting vehicles transporting hazardous chemicals at key locations, including the Zhenjiang exit of the S86 Expressway and the Zhenjiang West exit of the Yangli Expressway. The operation focused on identifying and addressing violations related to the transportation of dangerous goods, such as flammable liquids, flammable solids, and corrosive substances.
This operation adopts a comprehensive approach that integrates on-road enforcement with source-control measures, online and offline inspections, and day-and-night patrols. Enforcement officers use handheld enforcement terminals to systematically verify each vehicle flagged by the system as exhibiting irregularities, with a particular focus on violations such as discrepancies between the cargo and the vehicle in hazardous chemical transport, mismatched tank contents, failure to submit electronic waybills, and lack of required safety equipment. At the same time, the operation rigorously targets illegal parking, violations of traffic restriction and prohibition regulations, and driver fatigue—among other infractions.
On that day, law enforcement agencies deployed a total of 40 officer-personnel, inspected 45 hazardous chemical transport vehicles, and identified and addressed three violations of laws and regulations. Relevant officials stated that they will continue to deepen inter-agency coordination and collaboration, strengthen source-control measures and on-road enforcement, conduct frequent joint enforcement operations, rigorously urge enterprises to fulfill their principal responsibilities, effectively prevent the occurrence of serious and extremely serious safety accidents, and make every effort to ensure road transport safety.
