Fire Caused by Violations in the Transport of Flammable Solids; Police Urge Strict Adherence to Safety Standards for Transportation

Release time:2026-03-20

Recently, in a certain locality, a truck transporting flammable solids caught fire while en route due to excessively high cargo stacking and friction-induced collisions. Fortunately, the driver spotted the blaze promptly and alerted the authorities, enabling the fire department to arrive swiftly and contain the situation. No casualties were reported, but the vehicle and its cargo sustained severe damage.
Investigation revealed that the freight vehicle was transporting sulfur, a flammable solid. During loading, the driver failed to stack the cargo in accordance with regulations, resulting in an excessively high and unsecured pile. As the vehicle moved, the cargo rolled and rubbed against one another, generating sparks that ignited a fire. In addition, the vehicle was not equipped with the required full complement of fire-fighting equipment as mandated, which posed challenges for initial fire suppression. At present, the driver has been duly penalized by the police for illegally transporting flammable solids, and the relevant transportation company has been ordered to carry out corrective measures.
The police remind the public that the transportation of flammable solids must strictly comply with safety regulations: packaging must be secure, moisture-proof, and protected from sunlight; mixing with oxidizers or acids is strictly prohibited; cargo must be stacked in accordance with established standards to prevent rolling and friction; vehicles must be fully equipped with fire-fighting equipment; drivers must be proficient in emergency response procedures; and all safety thresholds for transport must be rigorously observed to prevent fires and other safety incidents.
